Thought on the Denial of the Value of Apologetics

One thing that I find particularly humorous are people who argue that apologetics are an intellectually dishonest and unworthy rational pursuit that should not be engaged in; for given that apologetics, at its core, simply means to defend a particular position or point-of-view through rational argument, then the fact is that the aforementioned people, in arguing for their position against apologetics, are actually engaging in apologetics while at the same time claiming that apologetics should not be engaged in, and thus such people’s own actions essentially refute their words, for they are engaged in a performative contradiction from which they cannot extricate themselves unless they drop their silly and self-undermining opposition to the discipline of apologetics.
