Thought on Re-Naming Christmas

Given the modern secular attempt–whether conscious or not–to literally de-Christianize the word “Christmas” and turn Christ’s Mass into little more than a secular day of festivities, it is, arguably, time for Christians to become more forceful in clearly yet briefly elucidating what the real meaning and purpose of Christmas is; for this reason–and I owe this idea to my young son–I propose that Christians stop using the term “Christmas” and replace it either with the term “Christ’s Mass (or “Jesus Christ’s Mass”)” or else with the label “Happy Jesus Christ’s Birthday”, for hearing either one of these labels for the “season” would make it clear that we are not celebrating some secular materialistic holiday that just happens to be titled “Christmas”, but rather that we are celebrating the very birth day of the Savior of the World.
